Garden Grove, CA – One Killed in Car Accident on 22 Fwy.

Garden Grove, CA (April 1, 2023) – Authorities in Garden Grove were called to the scene of a deadly car accident on Friday night, March 31st. The crash took place just before midnight in the westbound lanes of the 22 Freeway near Valley View Street.

According to a report from police, a sedan and a big rig collided with one another. Firefighters and paramedics arrived at the scene shortly after the accident happened. One person was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the victim was not released pending notification of the next of kin. There is no word on whether anyone else was injured in the accident. The westbound lanes of the freeway were closed for several hours while police cleared the scene and investigated the crash. Drivers were advised to avoid the area and to find an alternate route of travel.
