Downey, CA – One Hurt in Two-Vehicle Accident on I-5

Downey, CA (April 1, 2023) – Officials in Downey responded to the scene of a car accident with injuries on Monday, March 27th. The accident was reported around 3:00 a.m. on Interstate 5 near Interstate 605.

According to a report from police, a 2006 Suzuki and another unknown vehicle were traveling in the same direction on Interstate 5. The driver of the unknown vehicle attempted to make a lane change and collided with the Suzuki. An occupant of the Suzuki was hurt as a result of the accident. Rescue workers responded to the scene and provided medical treatment. There is no update on the victim’s condition at this time. Police did not identify anyone involved in the collision.

Following an investigation, the driver of the unknown vehicle was charged with making an unsafe lane change. The accident resulted in delays at the scene. Motorists were advised to avoid the area and to find an alternate route of travel.
