Santa Ana, CA -Fatal Hit-and-Run Involving Pedestrian on Figueroa St.

Santa Ana, CA (February 21, 2023) – The Santa Ana Police Department responded to a deadly hit-and-run crash involving a pedestrian on Monday morning, February 20th. The crash was reported just after 3:00 a.m. on First Street at the intersection with Figueroa Street.

Police report that a pedestrian was walking in the eastbound lanes of the roadway when he was struck by a car. The driver of the car fled the scene after the accident. After investigating, officials were able to locate the driver at his home. He was under the influence of alcohol and was arrested on charges in connection with the crash. The pedestrian sustained critical injuries and was later pronounced dead. He has not been identified at this time. There is no information on the events that led up to the occurrence of the crash.
