Encino, CA – Fatal Motorcycle Accident Reported on 101 Fwy.
Encino, CA (February 22, 2022) – A deadly motorcycle crash took place in Encino on Tuesday night, February 21st. The accident happened just before 8:00 p.m. on the 101 Freeway near the intersection with White Oak Avenue.
According to authorities, a motorcyclist was traveling on the 101 Freeway when he crashed into an SUV that was traveling in the same direction. Rescue officials arrived to find the motorcycle lodged beneath the SUV. The victim suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The California Highway Patrol responded and began an investigation into the accident. The identity of the deceased victim was not immediately released. The driver of the SUV was not injured as a result of the accident.
Police issued alerts to motorists in the area, urging them to avoid the scene and to find an alternate route of travel. The Freeway was partially shut down while an investigation was conducted.
There is no word on whether any charges are expected to be filed in connection with the accident. An investigation is underway at this time.
