Pomona, CA – One Killed, One Critically Hurt in Car Crash on Pomona Fwy.

Pomona, CA (April 8, 2023) – The California Highway Patrol was dispatched to the scene of a deadly car accident in Pomona on Saturday morning, April 8th. The crash took place in the westbound lanes of the Pomona Freeway at the Garey Avenue off-ramp.

According to police, two cars were involved. When officials arrived, they found both drivers trapped inside their wrecked vehicles. The Los Angeles County Fire Department was called to the scene to extricate the victims. One person was pronounced dead at the scene. A second victim was rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition. The identities of the two victims have not been released at this time. The cause of the accident remains under investigation. The westbound lanes of the Pomona Freeway were closed for several hours while an investigation was ongoing. Motorists were advised to find alternate routes of travel if possible.
