Oxnard, CA – Fatal Car Accident on Acturus Ave. at McWane Blvd.
Oxnard, CA (May 1, 2023) – Officials in Oxnard were dispatched to the scene of a fatal car accident on Sunday night, April 30th. The accident occurred just after 7:00 p.m. at the intersection of Arcturus Avenue and McWane Boulevard.
Police say that a 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt was traveling westbound on McWane Boulevard when the driver lost control of this vehicle. The Cobalt left the road and slammed into an electrical pole. Four males were trapped inside the vehicle following the crash. Rescue crews responded and extricated the victims from the vehicle.
Two of the passengers succumbed to their injuries, while two others were taken to a local hospital, where they were listed in stable condition. The identities of those involved have not been released at this time. Police believe that speeding and reckless driving played a role in the crash. No other vehicles were involved.
An investigation is ongoing. There is no further information available.
