Los Angeles Hit-and-Run Accident

Between 2017 and 2019, Los Angeles averaged about 4,500 hit-and-run injury accidents every year. The rate of injuries in hit-and-run collisions was greater than 50%. This number is higher than the injury rate associated with non-hit-and-run crashes. From these numbers, it appears as though a hit-and-run accident is more likely to lead to injuries. Although drivers are legally required to remain at the scene of an accident, they often choose to flee in an effort to avoid responsibility for their actions. Many drivers will leave the scene of a crash knowing that their actions have resulted in serious injuries. These drivers will face serious penalties when they are located by authorities.

Hit-and-run crashes continue to pose major problems for innocent victims. These accidents tend to be more serious in nature and can even be fatal. Unfortunately, hit-and-run crash victims are most often innocent motorists or pedestrians who were simply in the wrong place at the wrong time.
