Fatal Car Accidents in Los Angeles
Los Angeles experienced an unusual amount of fatal traffic crashes in 2022. For the first time in 20 years, more than 300 people were killed on our local roadways. A total of 312 people lost their lives, an increase of more than 5% from 2021 and more than 20% from 2020. The cause of the increase in deadly crashes is not readily apparent. However, most severe and fatal collisions happen because of negligent driving by at least one party involved. Sadly, it appears as though careless drivers continue to pose a major threat to the motorists of Los Angeles.
While there are some steps that can be taken to lower the risk of being involved in a crash, not all accidents are preventable. A crash caused by a reckless driver can harm innocent victims before they can avoid it. If you or a loved one were involved in a California car accident, you may be entitled to compensation for your damages. Under our state’s law, victims and family members can file legal claims against the driver who caused the accident. These cases are best left to an experienced attorney who can protect your legal rights.
