Lynwood, CA – UPDATE: Beatriz Rafael Identified in Fatal 710 Fwy. Crash

Lynwood, CA (June 4, 2023) – The victim of a deadly car accident in Lynwood has been identified by police. The crash took place on Thursday, June 1st on the 710 Freeway.

According to the California Highway Patrol, 32-year-old Beatriz Rafael died in the collision. Police say that the accident happened when a black Jeep struck the center divider of the freeway and collided with multiple cars, including a Mini Cooper. When officials arrived at the scene, they found a woman lying in the road. The woman, later identified as Rafael, had been ejected from one of the crashed vehicles. Rafael died at the scene.

There is no word on whether anyone else was hurt in the accident. The CHP closed all southbound lanes of the road while they investigated the accident. Motorists were advised to avoid the scene and to find an alternate route of travel if possible.

At this time, there is no word on whether anyone will be charged in connection with the accident. An investigation is ongoing.
