Fatal Bicycle Accident in Los Angeles

Bicycle accidents in Los Angeles can take place at any time. Bicycling is a popular activity for many residents in the city. On any given day, it is common to see bicycle riders on our streets and highways. A bicyclist is entitled to the same protection under traffic laws as all other motorists and individuals using the roadway. A very large number of bicycle accidents take place yearly in the city. According to statistics, there were nearly 1,800 injuries and approximately 20 fatalities caused by Los Angeles bicycle accidents in 2021. The odds of being injured in a bicycle crash are quite high. This is because bicycles provide little protection from the force and impact of a crash. Riders are extremely vulnerable to being seriously injured when they are struck by a car.

The facts and circumstances surrounding a Los Angeles bicycle accident are often in dispute. These crashes take place suddenly and unexpectedly. The driver may attempt to avoid responsibility by saying that they did not cause the accident. If there are no witnesses to the crash, police must conduct a thorough investigation in an effort to determine how the collision took place. In some cases, an expert accident deconstructionist must also be employed to determine the exact sequence of events.
