Lakewood, CA – UPDATE: Kenneth Richards Identified in 605 Fwy. Motorcycle Crash
Lakewood, CA (June 26, 2023) – Police in Lakewood have now identified the victim of a motorcycle crash that took place on Saturday, June 24th. The accident happened around 3:20 a.m. on the 605 Freeway, just north of South Street.
According to a report from the scene, 42-year-old Kenneth Richards was riding his motorcycle on the 605 Freeway when he was hit by a car. The vehicle then overturned following the collision. Richards suffered critical injuries in the accident and was pronounced dead at the scene. There is no word on whether the driver of the car was injured. No other injuries were reported in the accident.
The roadway was partially blocked. Motorists were advised to avoid the scene and to find an alternate route of travel if possible. It is unknown whether any charges will be filed.
