Fountain Valley, CA – Man Killed in Crash on Euclid St. and Slater Ave.
Fountain Valley, CA (February 27, 2023) – A man lost his life in a crash that took place in Fountain Valley on Sunday, February 26th. The accident happened just before 5:00 p.m. on Euclid Street at the intersection with Slater Avenue.
According to a report from the Fountain Valley Police Department, a white 2022 Toyota Camry was traveling northbound on Euclid. At the same time, a white 2008 Dodge Caravan was making a left turn from the southbound lanes of Euclid onto Slater. The two cars collided with each other as the Caravan attempted to turn.
Officials and rescue crews rushed to the scene as the Camry caught fire following the accident. Crews were able to extricate the driver, a 51-year-old man. He was rushed to a hospital with a serious head injury. The driver of the Caravan, a 55-year-old man, died at the crash scene. The identities of those involved have not been released. It is unclear what caused the accident at this time. Drivers were told to avoid the scene and to find an alternate route of travel if possible.
The crash is still under investigation. There is no further information available.
