Motorcycle Accident in Corona
The reported number of injuries due to motorcycle accidents is on the rise nationally. In addition, the number of fatalities has risen as well. In 2020, 5,579 riders lost their lives nationally in motorcycle collisions. More than 85,000 riders were hurt. Locally, in California, our state had the second-highest number of motorcycle crash fatalities in the country in 2020, behind only Florida. It is no secret that riding a motorcycle is a hazardous activity that comes with many risks. These risks are multiplied when negligent drivers are added to the equation. Many California motorcycle accidents take place because of negligent and careless driving. Motorists may fail to see or yield to a motorcycle, resulting in a catastrophic collision.
Of course, once the accident occurs, a motorcyclist has little to no protection from the impact of the accident. A motorcycle is not designed to withstand a serious collision, and riders are often ejected from their bikes, further increasing the odds of a major injury. If you or a loved one have been affected by a motorcycle accident in Corona, you should speak with an attorney about your legal rights. It is likely that the crash will need to be fully investigated in order to determine the exact cause. Liability is often a disputed issue in California motorcycle accidents.
