Cerritos, CA – UPDATE: Lee Morgan Identified in I-605 Crash

Cerritos, CA (June 20, 2023) – A 52-year-old man has been identified as the victim of a car accident that took place over the weekend in Cerritos. The accident happened around 11:40 a.m. on Interstate 605 near South Street.

According to a report from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office, the accident involved a black Jeep with Utha plates and a white Chrysler. The two cars collided with one another on I-605, causing the Jeep to overturn. One occupant of the Jeep, Lee Morgan, was trapped inside the vehicle. When fire and rescue crews arrived, they provided Morgan with medical assistance, but he ultimately succumbed to his injuries at the scene. There is no word on whether anyone else was hurt in the collision.

The Nos. 4 and 5 lanes of the freeway were blocked as a result of the crash. Motorists were advised to avoid the area and to find alternate routes of travel during this time.

The accident is under investigation. There is no word on whether any charges be filed. No further details have been released.
