Downey, CA – Two Hurt, Including Police Officer in Crash on Lakewood Blvd.

Downey, CA (March 13, 2023) –¬†Officials in Downey responded to the scene of a car accident involving a police officer on Monday, March 13th. The crash occurred around 1:45 a.m. at the intersection of Lakewood Boulevard and Columbia Way.

According to police, the officer and another vehicle were involved in the crash. There is no word on the cause of the accident at this time. Police and fire crews responded to the scene and transported both the officer and the driver of the car to a local hospital. Both were listed in stable condition at the hospital. There is no further update on their conditions at this time. The car suffered major front-end damage while the police vehicle came to rest in the divider lane with its airbags deployed.
