Oxnard, CA – Pedestrian Killed in Accident on Oxnard Blvd. at Citrus Grove Ln.
Oxnard, CA (May 14, 2023) – Police in the Oxnard area responded to a fatal accident involving a pedestrian on Thursday night, May 11th. The accident occurred around 10:30 p.m. at the intersection of Oxnard Boulevard and Citrus Grove Lane.
According to the Oxnard Police Department, a 65-year-old woman was walking on Oxnard Boulevard when she was hit by a 2003 Ford Expedition. The Expedition driver was identified as a 26-year-old male who was traveling southbound at the time of the accident. The woman suffered critical injuries and died at the scene. Her name is being withheld pending next of kin notification. Motorists were advised to avoid the area of the accident.
The Expedition driver remained at the accident scene and spoke with authorities. The cause of the crash, including whether drugs or alcohol were involved, remains under investigation. There is no word on whether any charges are expected.
