Los Angeles Pedestrian Accidents
Los Angeles is a dangerous place for pedestrians. From 2018 to 2022, pedestrians were killed at a rate of 2.9 per 100,000 people. The national average for pedestrian deaths during that same time period was 2.2 deaths per 100,000 people. The reason for the increased rate of deaths in Los Angeles is not fully known. However, the city has many pedestrians who are out and about on a daily basis. Combined with congested streets and roadways, this can be a recipe for disaster. It takes just a split second of negligent or careless driving to result in a crash that can affect the lives of many people forever.
