Los Angeles, CA (April 26, 2023) – A 14-year-old student was struck by a car near a Los Angeles middle school on Wednesday, April 26th. The crash took place near Berendo Middle School at the intersection of 12th Street West and Vermont Avenue.

According to Alberto Carvalho of the Los Angeles Unified School District, the student was walking near the campus when she was struck by a vehicle. The girl sustained injuries of unknown severity. She was transported to a local hospital for treatment, and there is no update on her condition at this time. There is no available description of the vehicle or the driver as police are investigating the accident. Motorists were asked to avoid the area and to find an alternate route of travel if possible.

The crash took place just one day after another student and her mother was struck outside a Los Angeles school, killing the mother and seriously injuring the girl. At this time, it is unclear if any charges will be filed. The crash remains under investigation.
