Long Beach, CA (February 4, 2023) – One person was killed and another was hurt in a vehicle accident that occurred in Long Beach on Saturday, February 4th. The accident happened around 5:30 a.m. in the 3800 block of Atlantic Avenue.

The Long Beach Police Department, along with the Long Beach Fire Department, responded to the accident scene. Officials say that a 1995 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 pickup was traveling southbound on Atlantic Avenue when the driver lost control of the vehicle. The truck hit a curb, a fire hydrant, and three trees before coming to rest.

Fire crews responded to the scene and extricated a man and a woman from the truck. The female passenger was pronounced dead at the scene. The male driver was rushed to a local trauma center and was listed in critical condition. Speed is believed to have been a factor in the crash. Neither of the accident victims were identified.

The Long Beach Police Department continues to investigate. There is no further information available.
