Lancaster, CA – One Killed in Three-Vehicle Crash on Avenue J
Lancaster, CA (April 28, 2023) – Three vehicles were involved in a fatal crash that took place in Lancaster on Thursday, April 27th. The accident occurred around 12:30 a.m. at the intersection of Avenue J and 40th Street West.
According to a report from the scene, a Dodge Journey was traveling eastbound on Avenue J at a high rate of speed. The Journey collided with the back of a Ford F-450 Spectrum utility truck. The Journey rolled over following the crash with the Spectrum truck and then collided with a Dodge Dart. The driver of the Journey suffered critical injuries and died at the scene.
The operator of the Spectrum truck was taken to a hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries. The Dart driver was treated for minor injuries at the scene. The cause of the accident is under investigation at this time, but police believe that speed played a role.
Anyone with information on the crash is asked to contact the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office. There is no further information available.
