Arcadia, CA – Pedestrian Killed in Collision on Huntington Dr. at Myrtle Ave.

Arcadia, CA (July 1, 2023) – Police in the Arcadia area were called to the scene of a fatal pedestrian accident on Friday, June 30th. The accident happened around 11:30 p.m. near the intersection of Huntington Drive and Myrtle Avenue.

According to a report from authorities, a 17-year-old was traveling at a high rate of speed as police pursued him. The teen drove through a red light and struck a pedestrian who was crossing the road. The pedestrian suffered critical injuries as a result of the crash and died at the scene. The victim’s identity has not been released at this time. Following the crash, the teen driver fled the scene while officers assisted the pedestrian.

The driver was later found hiding in a nearby bush and was arrested. The accident remains under investigation. There is no further information available at this time.
