Van Nuys, CA – Woman, 5-Year-Old Boy Killed in Head-On Crash on Woodley Ave.

Van Nuys, CA (June 30, 2023) – A woman and a child were killed in a two-car crash that took place in Van Nuys on Thursday, June 29th. The accident happened around 9:35 p.m. in the 6400 block of North Woodley Avenue.

According to a report from the Los Angeles Fire Department, a white Honda Accord was traveling northbound on Woodley Avenue when it crossed into the southbound lanes. While in the southbound lanes, the Accord collided head-on with a gray Honda Civic. A 60-year-old woman and a 5-year-old boy in the Civic both suffered critical injuries and were later pronounced dead. The driver of the Civic, a man in his 30s, and a 27-year-old female passenger, both sustained minor injuries.

The driver of the Accord, also a man in his 30s, suffered critical injuries while his passenger, a woman in her 30s, was moderately injured. No one involved in the collision has been identified at this time.

Police are still working to determine the cause of the accident. There is no further information available.
