Lakewood, CA – One Killed in Multi-Car Accident on 605 Fwy

Lakewood, CA (July 3, 2023) – Officials in Lakewood were called to the scene of an injury accident on Sunday night, July 2nd. The accident took place around 8:00 p.m. in the southbound lanes of the 605 Freeway at Carson Street.

Paramedics and rescue workers were dispatched to the scene shortly after the accident took place. According to reports, a total of seven cars were involved in the collision. One person died as a result of the accident and another was transported to a nearby hospital with minor injuries. Neither of the victims were immediately identified. Police did not release information on the cause of the accident.

All of the southbound lanes were shut down due to the accident and remained closed for several hours. Motorists were advised to avoid the scene.

There is no word on whether any charges are expected to be filed. The accident is still under investigation.
