Los Angeles, CA – Two Killed in Wrong-Way Crash on 118 Fwy. at Tampa Ave.

Los Angeles, CA (March 6, 2023) – Police in Los Angeles are investigating a fatal wrong-way crash on Sunday morning, March 5th. The crash happened around 4:30 a.m. on the 118 Freeway near Tampa Avenue in the Porter Ranch area.

According to a report from the California Highway Patrol, a car was traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes of the roadway. As it traveled in the wrong direction, the car was hit head-on by a semi-truck. The driver of the car sustained serious injuries and was rushed to a local hospital. Two passengers in the truck were critically, and both died at the crash scene. There were no additional injuries reported. The identities of the passengers have not been released. Motorists were advised to avoid the scene.

Police are still investigating the crash in order to determine why the car traveled the wrong way on the 118 Freeway. There is no additional information available at this time.
