Rancho Cucamonga, CA (January 19, 2023) – Two bicyclists were killed following a crash in Rancho Cucamonga on Tuesday night, January 17th. The crash took place on Foothill Boulevard near Etiwanda Avenue at approximately 8:20 p.m.

The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Office responded to the crash scene. According to deputies, 23-year-old Robert Gubany, of Fontana, was driving eastbound on Foothill Boulevard when he tried to pass other vehicles. Gubany moved into the bicycle lane, where he collided with two riders who were traveling westbound. The two bicyclists suffered critical injuries in the crash. They were taken to a local hospital, where they were later pronounced dead as a result of their injuries.

Gubany continued driving away from the scene and was later involved in a second accident. He was later apprehended by police and was charged with impaired driving in connection with the crash. The deceased victims were not identified.
