Fatal Car Accidents in Los Angeles

Each year, more than 300 people are killed in car accidents that take place in Los Angeles. The toll of pedestrian accidents is quite high, with over half of all reported fatalities involving pedestrians. In 2022, 159 pedestrians were killed in Los Angeles, one of the highest numbers in any city in the country. Los Angeles is known for pedestrians, with thousands of individuals walking throughout the city on a daily basis. Drivers should always remember to use all possible precautions in order to reduce the risk of a major crash. Unfortunately, however, negligent driving is still prevalent, which places pedestrians and all others in danger.

California law allows crash victims and family members to file certain legal claims in the aftermath of a serious crash. If you have lost a family member due to a Los Angeles pedestrian accident, you should speak with an attorney as soon as possible. You could be entitled to receive compensation for your losses, including payment of funeral and medical bills, loss of companionship, punitive damages, and more. While there is certainly nothing that can replace your family member, you could receive compensation to help offset some of the unexpected expenses that you are facing.
