Pedestrian Accidents in Los Angeles

Pedestrians are among the most vulnerable crash victims on our roadways. While the actual number of pedestrian accidents is lower than other types of collisions, the results are often more devastating. According to statistics, more than 80% of pedestrians who are involved in crashes will also suffer injuries as a result of the crash. A pedestrian has no protection from the impact of the collision and, as a result, will often find themselves suffering from major injuries when they are struck by a vehicle. Many pedestrian accidents in Los Angeles are caused by negligent or inattentive drivers. These drivers have no little regard for the safety of others, and their actions can negatively change many lives in an instant.

A Silver Lake pedestrian crash must be carefully investigated by police. Officers will look at all of the circumstances surrounding the accident in order to understand how it occurred and who should be held responsible. This investigation can result in criminal charges and can also be the basis for civil liability. Under California law, injured accident victims can bring a case against the driver who caused the crash to happen.
