Los Angeles, CA - Fatality Reported in Crash on I-5 at SR 73

Los Angeles, CA (January 4, 2023) – The California Highway Patrol responded to the scene of a fatal crash on Wednesday, January 4th. The accident was reported around 3:45 p.m. on Interstate 5 near State Road 73.

According to dispatch notes, a Honda Civic and another vehicle were involved in a collision on I-5. One of the vehicles caught fire after the accident. Rescue crews arrived and provided aid to at least one injured victim. One person was pronounced dead at the accident scene. There is no word on the cause of the crash at this time. The road was shut down for several hours while officials conducted an investigation. During this time, motorists were asked to avoid the area and to find an alternate route of travel if possible.
