Long Beach Hit-and-Run Accidents

Fatal accidents take place across Los Angeles County on a daily basis. Hit-and-run collisions account for a substantial number of accidents. Estimates show that greater than 30% of all car accidents in Los Angeles and surrounding areas may involve a hit-and-run. Drivers are legally required to remain at the scene of a collision. However, many of them choose not to remain and speak with authorities. This can be a very serious offense that will lead to criminal prosecution. Additionally, most drivers who flee the scene of a crash will do so knowing that their negligence led to a major collision.

Hit-and-run cases can be complicated and can present complex factual scenarios. The reality is that many hit-and-run cases will go unsolved, and the driver may not ever be located. While this can cause a great amount of anger and frustration, your focus should remain on receiving recovering from your injuries. Even if the driver is not found, you may still be able to seek a recovery. Under California law, you could make a claim against your own insurance policy to help pay for the damages that you suffered.
