Long Beach, CA – Pedestrian Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash on Pacific Ave.
Long Beach, CA (January 1, 2023) – Authorities in Long Beach are looking for a driver following a deadly hit-and-run crash on Saturday, December 31st. The accident took place around 6:45 p.m. on Pacific Avenue at the intersection with 27th Street.
The Long Beach Fire Department, along with the Long Beach Police Department, responded to the scene. According to authorities, a male pedestrian was crossing Pacific Avenue. The man was in a crosswalk when he was hit by a Honda Odyssey that was driven by a 78-year-old man. The pedestrian became trapped underneath a vehicle and died at the scene. An investigation showed that the pedestrian was initially struck by a northbound vehicle and the driver of that vehicle fled the scene before police could arrive.
