Long Beach, CA (March 23, 2022) – The Long Beach Police Department is investigating a deadly pedestrian crash on Thursday morning, March 23rd. The accident happened around 12:30 a.m. on the Pacific Coast Highway just east of Gaviota Avenue.

According to a report from the LBPD, a pedestrian was walking in or near the road when he was hit by a 2007 Toyota Camry that was traveling southbound on the PCH. The pedestrian, who was not immediately identified, suffered critical injuries and was pronounced dead at the accident scene. The driver of the Camry, a 19-year-old Signal Hill man, remained at the scene and spoke with authorities about the accident. There were no additional vehicles involved in the crash, and no one else was hurt.

Police are still investigating the accident and its cause. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Long Beach police or Crime Stoppers. No further details regarding the incident are available at this time.
