Deadly Pedestrian Accident in Bakersfield
California pedestrian accidents carry a great risk of serious bodily harm for victims. When we think of a pedestrian accident, we often associate the crash as being catastrophic in nature. According to statistics, more than 80% of all pedestrian crashes in California will result in some type of injury to the victim. The explanation for this is simple: pedestrians have no protection from the force and impact of the collision. Even an accident that takes place at relatively low speeds has great potential to do serious damage.
Many pedestrian accidents occur because of mistakes made by drivers. Some drivers are careless or distracted, thus increasing the chance that their actions will lead to a serious crash. Drivers who fail to pay attention to their surroundings can strike an unsuspecting pedestrian. Each accident must be closely investigated in order to determine the exact sequence of events that led up to its occurrence.
California law provides crash victims and family members with legal rights in the event of an accident. If you or a loved one have been affected by a crash of any type, you should speak with an experienced attorney in order to fully understand the options that you might have. Even in cases where you think you might be partly at fault, you should talk to a lawyer in order to decide how best to move forward.
