Antelope Valley, CA (January 7, 2023) – Authorities in Antelope Valley have now identified the victims of a serious crash in Antelope Valley earlier in the week. The accident took place on Thursday, January 5th at approximately 2:40 p.m. on 100th Street East.

According to prior reports, a white GMC pickup was traveling on 100th Street when the truck broadsided a red Hyundai Venue and another vehicle. Police say that 26-year-old Ericka Gonzalez and 23-year-old Esmerelda Rangel were killed in the collision. Following the crash, officers were scene administering a field sobriety test to the driver of one of the vehicles. There is no information on the identity of the suspect at this time. The accident also resulted in a downed utility pole and power lines. Motorists were advised to avoid the area and to find an alternate route of travel if possible.

There is no word on any potential charges at this time. The investigation remains ongoing.
